Experience in LFS 151 

Life science 151 has been the most interesting yet challenging module. It has different aspects such as practicals, tests, tuts, class-works and field trips. Each and every one of these requires a dedicated student, like myself *w!nk w!nk*. I have a very cool lecturer who makes every class we attending interesting. Because the classes are fun and interesting, i always look forward to attending all of them. It is not all about reading a textbook and writing a class activity but most of the time we study through slides, movies, group presentation where everyone gets a chance to be in front of the class and teach the class and some audios. Life Science 151 proves that science does not have to be dull, it can be fun and cool.

We have awesome practical instructors along with demonstrators, who make the practical great by helping us out when we are stuck in some of the work we do. They are friendly and easy to approach, which makes working with them easy. Life Science practical’s gives me a chance to wear a lab coat and that makes me proud to be a future scientist. It inspires me to work hard and be a real scientist. Through practical’s I get a chance to experience the scientific lab life.

Through Life science, we get a chance to learn visually, meaning we get to see the things that we are taught in class, we get to touch them, we get to smell them and we get to fill them. Those are characteristics of scientist meaning that in Life Science we practice being scientists. We do experiments just as scientists do and we write a lab report to prove the experiments we did. We get a chance to go to the fields and observe plants and animals, and see the type of soil that different plants live in.

Life Science tutorials cover the work we do in class, which makes it easy for us to do. Moreover, most of the time the tuts are open books meaning one can write while referring to the textbook. Even when tuts are not open books, its still is easy to attempt and do them since we do the work in class. The tutors are fair, they let some of the group mates explain if one does not understand.

Life Science in semester one was a BOMB!!! Compared to now simple because then the tasks were kind of easy probably because we were new and they did not want to be hard on us but now however one gets to feel the feeling of being a University student whose doing Science (life). In as much as these are the challenges we experience there is support from the lecturers, the practical instructors, the tutors and the practical demonstrators. This makes the challenges to be dealt with accordingly.

In all the modules that I am doing, I prefer life science because life science is the best module ever.
